About MindAfrica School Maker Faire

MindAfrica School Maker Faire is aimed at showcasing creativity, innovation and resourcefulness among secondary school students. The 2017 School Maker Faire took place on the 4th of November 2017.

Designed to inspire interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education among students in primary and secondary schools, the School Maker Faire supports hands-on learning opportunities that promote creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and self-expression. The 2017 MindAfrica School Maker Faire impacted 254 students from 16 primary and secondary schools in Rivers State by providing access to tools, materials and mentorship focused on STEM topics such as electronics, robotics, computer programming, digital fabrication, 3D printing and more. The School Maker Faire will also feature exhibitions by school maker clubs, which will attract prizes and awards for innovative projects.
