Girls in ICT:

MindAfrica would be celebrating International Girls in ICT Day by organizing a 1-day event that will focus on empowering secondary school girls within the ages of 13 – 17 years with knowledge and skills that will influence their career decisions and academic success. The event will enable girls interact with leading female role models, participate in hands-on tech workshops and gain insight into the fields of ICT and the opportunities they offer.

Date: 28th April 2016

Our Programs:

After-School Programs:

Our after-school program serves students from resource poor schools. As the name implies the program is held after school hours between 2-4pm on school days. Participation is free for students.

The aim of the program is to develop the potential of underserved children and youth with knowledge and skills to become successful in life.

Leadership Camp:

Our leadership camp is a summer holiday program held annually to serve between 120-150 students from various community schools. It features short courses, projects and extra-curricular activities where students learn etiquette, sportsmanship, positive attitudes, self-esteem, respect, caring, and taking responsibility for choices amongst others. These life skills are integrated throughout the program.

School Maker Faire:

Building on the highly energized Maker Movement that is making waves in global communities, MindAfrica explores ways to engage more Nigerian students in the effort of ‘making’ and raising their interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Annually MindAfrica hosts a School Maker Faire that brings together over 300 students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, to exchange knowledge and showcase their inventions.
